Make: Lamp-shade

I've been thinking a lot about lamps lately. Last week I was browsing this amazing collection of 1960's and 1970's Italian lamps at Alfie's Antiques in North London. From between £4,000 and £15,000 a pair they are ok for my current client, but for lil' ol' me, not quite. It's not that I'm opposed to spending that much on something beautiful, it's just that I can't! There is too much Manic Panic hair dye to buy for child number one, and bags of clay and legos to buy for child number two, and tattoos to buy for husband, and dog bones to buy for Gracie the Frenchie. And let's face it, I do love a bit of DIY.

So this weekend one of my many personal projects will be to make a lamp shade inspired by this one from Ikea. Yes I could buy it - it's not expensive - but then everyone else would have the same one.

I think one of these (found on the street of course)

Have a creative weekend.

Feel free to write me a note - I love getting them. It's a bit like getting an old-fashioned letter in the post. Thanks! x
