Flower Bargain

One of the great things about Los Angeles is it's flower district. It's so cheap, it's silly. It's my go-to place when shopping for shoots and since it's right next to the garment district I usually shop for flowers and fabric in one trip.

For about $50 I bought 9 different bunches, including a large bundle of cherry blossom branches. At Whole Foods $50 will get you 2 or 3 mixed bunches. And Teleflora? You're lucky if they'll deliver a single rose for $50.

i love how these have their only little mesh hoods to protect them. 

Somewhere there are miles of cherry blossom trees dutifully growing only to have their branches hacked off for people like me. Because I think they're pretty. It's a bit sad really. Sniff.

Then again, not all flowers get to be in magazine shoots do they? Really they should count themselves lucky.
