On the Lookout: Studio Space

Today marks the end of the first chapter in my London work life "book". I am leaving the design position I have held for the past year and half, the one that got me through this bumpy ride of re-settling into my own country after half a lifetime in the US. I leave with gratitude for all that I've learned and excitement for the next chapter.

It's a bit of a pipe dream at this point, but part of the plan over the next year or so is to find a studio space to grow all the aspects of my business that I've been thinking about for years: more sewn art commissions, textile/wallpaper design, set design. A space where I can create and make a mess and re-ignite my creativity. In LA I had this space and it was great.

Wouldn't it be great to find somewhere like this, the office in LA shared by DesignLoveFest, Max Wanger, Yeah Rentals and some others. That's my goal - a space to share with other creatives: photographers, stylists, set designers, maybe have my own props for rent. A space to create, shoot, collaborate. It's high on my list right now - you've got to dream big to get big.

Back to the present: Next week I'm off to Norway for the last leg of my interiors book shoot. I don't know what to expect since I've never been, but I am beyond excited about the amazing houses I'm styling.

Feel free to write me a note - I love getting them. It's a bit like getting an old-fashioned letter in the post. Thanks! x
