If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I often mention my dear friend Yolly (@yolandachiaramello). We've been friends since we were about 14, losing touch for a while when I moved to the States, but reconnecting thanks to good old Facebook.
Aside from raising two gorgeous little boys, and being extremely, annoyingly, effortlessly stylish, Yolly works as a photographer and florist. Photography came first, floristry next, and now she does both.
I love working with other creatives, even better when they're good friends, so Yolly and I have teamed up to do a workshop at Anthropologie on the King's Road, London on December 7th. To mark the launch of my book Modern Rustic, she and I will be teaching modern rustic wreath making (limited places, book if you're interested), followed by a more casual drop-in Christmas craft making, mulled wine, chit-chat, book signing sort of thing.
As a stylist I often have to arrange flowers for shoots, however I am no expert, which is why I asked Yolly to join me and bring her floral wizadry (Is that a real word? Spellcheck does not think so!) to the workshop. Here's why I love this woman:
Yolly's little brother built her this awesome work table out of pallets.
She sometimes does these sweet illustrations as she brainstorms for an event.
Yolly designed this beautiful arch for a wedding in a gorgeous country setting.
And here's what we got up to earlier this week at Yolly's house in preparation for our
Anthropologie workshop.
When we've had too much coffee and things get silly, children go in boxes...
When we were done hiding children in boxes, we shot a step by step "how-to" of the wreath making session for the Anthropologie website, so even if you can't make the event you can see a little demo. I'll post a link when that's up.

What gorgeous arrangements! I've oohh'ed over Yolly's creations on your site before - what a talented lady. I do wish I were closer to book a spot at your workshop, Canada's a bit of a jaunt! On another note your book finally made it's way across Canada and I spent a great evening perusing it's pages. Absolutely gorgeous - so inspiring and calm, restive spaces! Lots of ideas rolling around for our kitchen. Congratulations on such an outstanding first book!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Janet! What kind words. I'm so pleased you like the book.
DeleteDefinitely check out the wreath how-to instructions when Anthropologie put them up. I'll post a link when they do. x
Love those gorgeous arrangements! Thanks for sharing the story and photos.
ReplyDelete@Van - thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked it. Yolly is a talent, that's for sure!
